Superfood is a term for foods that have a very high nutritional density- in other words, low in calories and high in nutrients. Summer is a great time to take advantage of those foods that pack a nutritional punch!

  • Avocados- are a great source of healthy benefical fats. They are also packed with vitamins C, E, K, and B6, as well as riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, potassium, beta carotene, and omega-3 fatty acids.


  • Sweet Corn- is high in fiber and vitamin C. It is a food potent with antioxidants that protect your cells from damage.


  • Grapes- are a good source of fiber, potassium, and a range of vitamins and other minerals. They have also been shown to help protect against cancer, eye problems, cardiovascular disease. It is high in the antioxidant resveratrol which has been shown to benefit several chronic conditions such as aging, heart diseases, and cancers.


  • Sweet Peppers- Are high in vitamin C and have antioxidants called carotenoids that may reduce inflammation, the risk of anemia and protect against chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes


  • Basil- a great addition to any summer dish. Basil is rich in antioxidant properties and provides almost 25 percent of the vitamin K a woman needs a day.
