Ingredients
3 cups flour
2 tsp Ginger, Ground
1 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp Nutmeg, Ground
¼ tsp salt
¾ cup butter, soft
¾ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
½ cup molasses
1 egg
1 tsp Vanilla
Buttercream Icing
1/3 cup Butter, softened
3 cups Powdered sugar
1-3 tbsp milk
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla or gingerbread schnapps
Directions
Press dough into a thick, flat disk. and Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
On a lightly floured surface Roll dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
Using a gingerbread Man or Woman cookie cutter Cut out cookies and place on parchment lined baking sheet- about one inch apart.
Bake for 8-10 minutes. Let sit on baking sheet for several minutes before removing them to Cool on wire cooling rack.
Decorate once cool.
